FAQs

1. What is the Habitat Niagara ReStore?

The Habitat Niagara ReStore is a nonprofit home improvement store that sells new and gently used furniture, appliances, building materials, décor, and more—at a fraction of retail prices. All proceeds support Habitat for Humanity Niagara’s mission of building safe, affordable homes for local families.

2. Where do the items in the ReStore come from?

Our inventory comes from generous donations by individuals, businesses, contractors, and manufacturers. Items range from gently used household goods to brand-new merchandise donated by local retailers.

3. Can I donate my items?

Yes! We gratefully accept donations of clean, working, and gently used items such as furniture, appliances, cabinets, home décor, and building materials. Donations can be dropped off at any ReStore location, or you can schedule a free pick-up for larger items.

4. What items are not accepted?

For safety and quality reasons, we cannot accept items such as mattresses, car seats, cribs, chemicals, tires, weapons, or personal care items. A full list of acceptable and non-acceptable donations is available on our Donations page.
